Bhopal: No case of corona virus has been found positive in the state yet. The State Surveillance Unit is in constant touch with the Central Surveillance Unit, New Delhi for new directives and consultation. The Call Centre-104 has been activated at state level for the information and directives on corona virus and 821 calls have been received so far.
Concrete measures have been taken by the state government to monitor and control this disease. Till date, 690 travellers from the countries, affected by the corona virus have been identified. Out of these, 283 passengers have been kept in isolation in their homes, while the surveillance of 356 passengers has been completed. Samples of 27 probable cases had been sent for testing to NIV, Pune and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur , out of which 23 reports have come negative, while 4 reports are yet to come. Screening of 9387 passengers came from the affected countries have been done at Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior airports.
The Additional Director, Health Dr. Veena Sinha informed that facility for testing samples of corona virus disease is available at AIIMS, Bhopal and National Tribal Health Research Institute (NIRTH), Jabalpur. It has been declared an International Public Health Emergency by the World Health Organization. In view of this, concrete steps have been taken as regard to prevent this disease. The citizens of the state have been appealed to cover the mouth with tissue paper or handkerchiefs. Do not shake hands while greeting people but just greet each other with folded hands.
As per the latest information, cases of novel corona virus disease have been recorded in 114 countries of the world. As many as 4596 new cases have been registered in other countries as compared to 31 new cases in China today.
