Bhopal: The state government has provided an amount of about Rs 72 crore as housing allowance to 62,350 tribal students to help in college studies. This assistance has been made available to students for whom hostel facilities have not been made available. Last year, financial aid for housing was provided to about 28,500 students.
Special attention is being paid to the training of teachers to improve quality of education in government schools run by the Tribal Welfare Department. Principals have been imparted training through Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. Through the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhi Nagar, 25 Science and 25 Mathematics teachers have been trained as source teachers.
As many as 25 PGTs and 29 TGTs of the Tribal Welfare Department have been trained according to the new educational technology through CBSE New Delhi. In addition, honorarium of CTET pass guest teachers in Eklavya Model Residential Schools has also been increased.
