Bhopal: Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Kamleshwar Patel met Union Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi and asked him to release the pending amount of Rs 3,435 crore for rural development schemes soon. Patel has gone to attend the meeting of the Rashtriya Sanchalan Samiti of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in New Delhi.
Minister Patel said that the Central government should release the pending amount of the state's share under the head of MNREGA, Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. With this, the schemes can be completed within the time-limit to benefit the common man. He said that due to the apathetic attitude of the central government, payments of Rs 250 crore under labour head and Rs 550 crore in material head is pending in the ambitious scheme like MNREGA. This is having a negative impact on the implementation of the plan. He has requested the Union Minister for Rural Development to allocate an amount of Rs one thousand crore immediately under MNREGA item. Patel said that in the year 2016-17 and 2017-18, Rs 225 crore received in other schemes has been utilized in MNREGA. The Central government has to reimburse this also.
Patel informed that one lakh 80 thousand houses have been constructed in Madhya Pradesh against the allotted target of 2019-20 under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. For this, the second instalment of Rs 2210 crore should also be released soon, so that the state government can provide housing to the needy.
The Minister said that the people who were left in the list of Housing Plus App, need to be added to the scheme. He has also demanded to increase the administrative head amount from 2 percent to 4 percent under the planning head.
Patel said that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, villages are being selected on the basis of 2001 census. After amending it, villages should be selected on the basis of 2011 census. He said that with this amendment, 1036 villages of the state can be connected with Prime Minister roads. Patel said that under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme Phase III, approval of 4500 km of roads is to be provided for Madhya Pradesh. This approval should be given in the first year of the scheme 2020-21.
Patel said that the proposal of Mandla and Dindori districts under NRETP under State Rural Livelihood Mission, the proposal of maize and jowar in Chhindwara district and separate value chain in Morena and Sheopur districts are pending at the central government level. Approval of these projects should be given soon.
