Bhopal: A 47-year-old coronavirus suspect, admitted at a government hospital at Indore, died on Thursday. The man was earlier treated at the Ujjain civil hospital and was admitted to the Indore hospital on Wednesday with symptoms of breathlessness, fever and cold.
According to a spokesperson of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) medical college Indore, his test reports are awaited. The patient did not have a travel history, he added.
The first coronavirus death was that of a 65-year-old woman from Ujjain itself. She had tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection. The woman succumbed to the viral infection on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Covid-19 tally rose to 20 after five more tested positive in Indore. The first Covid-19 case in Madhya Pradesh was that of a girl student who had returned from London, UK and tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The five patients — three men aged 48, 65 and 68, and two women aged 50 and 65 — were admitted in different hospitals of the city and tested positive on late Wednesday night, the spokesperson said. They have also no history of foreign travel.
Earlier, six positive coronavirus cases were reported from Jabalpur and one each from Bhopal, Gwalior and Shivpuri.
According to the health ministry data, total 13 people have died of Coronavirus and the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country stood at 593, while 42 people were either cured or discharged and one had migrated. The total number of 657 cases included 47 foreign nationals, the ministry said.
